So it remains only for me, then, to extend my profound thanks to the staff of Liverpool City Council, who have made the Inquiry run so smoothly, and they have done so with great kindness. The people of Liverpool have made us very welcome and I know that is the view of everyone in the room.

I thank the Inquiry team, counsel, solicitors, paralegals and the secretariat, and the team responsible for the audio-visuals in the hearing room.

My profound thanks go to the parents for their participation, their presence, whether in the hearing room or online, for their many contributions to the work of the Inquiry.

I agreed to carry out a thorough inquiry as swiftly as possible. I thank all the people in the room whose efforts have made swiftness and thoroughness possible.

I thank those who have supported the witnesses and enabled them to contribute effectively, and to those who have made the experience easier for those members of the public who wanted to observe the proceedings, which have been truly public. No one has been turned away, and I am grateful in particular to the Coroner’s Support Service.

This is the last of the hearings in this phase of the Inquiry and we now move on to the next phase, which for me is the writing of the report. That is my responsibility and I will begin that work in earnest tomorrow. As I have said, I will keep the publication date under review, but it is still my intention to publish the report in November of this year.

Ms Langdale, I think that concludes the business of this part of the Inquiry.
